Peter Koevari writes and directs genre films: science fiction, horror and crime, built on strong premises and made to travel. His work has won 57 awards and 47 nominations at festivals around the world.
The web series Diana won Best Australian Web Series at the Gold Coast Film Festival and Best Series at the Malta Film Festival. The cyberpunk short Quantum Ride won Best Sci-Fi Short at the Five Continents International Film Festival and Calgary Horror Con. 30 took the Jury Prize for Best SciFi at Mindfield Los Angeles, and Broken won Best Short and Best Writing at the Top Indie Film Awards.
He learned from filmmakers who make genre personal: Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, John Woo and David Fincher. "I write and create films not because I can, but because I must."
In Brisbane he leads FilmLab Academy, training the next generation of filmmakers, and is festival director of AFIN International. Koevari Pictures, formerly GP2 Entertainment, is his production company. Next: Divine Vengeance.
